Chief Langdon Selected to Serve on State-Wide Board

LYNNWOOD, WA (February 13, 2025) - The City of Lynnwood is pleased to announce that Police Chief Cole Langdon has been appointed to serve as Chief-At-Large of the Board of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC). 

Chief Langdon has been with the Lynnwood Police Department for X years, and has served as the Chief since July of 2023. Throughout his career in Lynnwood, Chief Langdon has gained a depth of experience in many aspects of policing, from patrol and K-9 handling, traffic and collision investigations, training and accreditation. He served on the North Sound Metro SWAT team, and headed up the department's Community Health and Safety Section.

"Chief Langdon is well-respected in our local community, throughout the region and state," stated Mayor Christine Frizzell. "He is a true public servant and his vision for community-based policing will be a huge asset to the WASPC Board helping to inform an environment of policing that will better address our current day challenges."

Lynnwood Police Chief Coleman Langdon Named Chief At-Large of Statewide Law Enforcement Organization

(Lacey) --- Lynnwood Police Chief Coleman Langdon was named Chief At-Large of the board of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC).  Chief Langdon was appointed by WASPC President Chief Darrell Lowe of Redmond P.D., to replace Chief Michelle Bennett of Edmonds, who recently retired.

“Chief Langdon is a respected leader both within his community but also regionally and we appreciate him joining our board,” said Steve Strachan, WASPC executive director.  “The Chief will be part of critical statewide public safety policy and advocacy, and we are thankful he is stepping up to take on this leadership role.”

WASPC was founded in 1963 and consists of executive and top management personnel from law enforcement agencies statewide. With more than 900 members it includes 39 county sheriffs, and 240 police chiefs, as well as the Washington State Patrol, the Washington Department of Corrections, and representatives of Tribal and federal agencies.

WASPC is the only association of its kind in the nation combining representatives from local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement into a single body, working toward a common goal. WASPC's function is to provide specific materials and services to all law enforcement agencies in the state, members, and non-members alike.
